Director of Data - 6 Month Contract

£1400 per day (Inside IR35)

Midlands - Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

The Company

Infinite Talent is working with a leading UK retailer with over 2000 stores nationwide to find an exceptional Data Director to lead transformational change by putting data at the heart of decision-making.

This role will shape and deliver the Data & Analytics strategy, build a high-performance culture, and bridge business and technical teams. With oversight of governance, analytics, and innovation, you’ll ensure data drives value, growth, and competitive advantage.

The Role:

• Lead the Data & Analytics vision, championing data’s value and securing senior buy-in to drive business impact.

• Establish and maintain a robust, compliant data governance framework that ensures discoverable, accessible, and trusted data, transforming it into a strategic business asset.

• Build a collaborative data community, driving literacy, shared learning, and adoption of emerging technologies.

• Bridge business and technical teams, aligning data initiatives with priorities while leveraging market best practices and external insights.

• Ensure data initiatives deliver measurable impact by aligning investments with high-value opportunities and continuously refining programs.

The Person:

• Influential data leader with the presence to champion data and engage stakeholders at every level.

• Skilled in data governance, AI/ML, emerging tech, and regulatory compliance.

• Proven track record driving change, leading cross-functional teams, and managing complex priorities.

• Commercially focused, unlocking value through data monetization and partnerships.

• Industry-connected, bringing fresh insights and best practices to shape strategy.
